LDO

Distillate feed and residual oil are blended to make LDO. As an industrial fuel, it is primarily intended for stationary or slow-speed diesel engines. Typically, LDO is used in diesel engines that run at medium or slow speeds under 750 rpm.

FURNACE OIL

Furnace oil is a dark viscous residual fuel obtained by blending mainly heavier components from crude distillation unit. As per IS 1593:2018 specification, Furnace Oil is classified into four grades – LV, MV1, MV2 and HV.

FUEL OIL

Fuel oil is a proportion of petroleum since it is a distillate or byproduct of the distillation of petroleum. Generally speaking, fuel oil is any liquid petroleum product that may be used as fuel in an engine to produce power or burned in a furnace or boiler to provide heat, with the exception of oils having flash points greater than 40 °C (104 °F) and those used in cotton or wool-wick burners.

Low Sulphur Crude is converted into Low Sulphur Heavy Stock (LSHS), a residual fuel. Because of its high pour point, it must be handled at a temperature above room temperature in order to maintain the appropriate fluidity while being stored and handled. Insulated tank lorries are used to transport LSHS. An effective fuel with a higher calorific value is LSHS.

The viscosity of the liquid at various temperatures is one of the most crucial aspects. The concentration of base oil molecules and the ease with which they may be removed decide whether or not a crude oil is suitable for making a base oil.
